Milly Alcock Lands Coveted Supergirl Role in New DC

"House of the Dragon" star Milly Alcock cast as iconic DC superheroine Supergirl by director James Gunn.  


Gunn officially confirmed casting news on Instagram, praising Alcock's auditions and  calling her the embodiment of Kara Zor-El.


Alcock breaks out on the global stage after her acclaimed performance as young Princess Rhaenyra in the "Game of Thrones" prequel.  


She will star in the film "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" based on the popular Supergirl comic series.  


Big shoes to fill for the Australian actor, with Supergirl previously played by Melissa Benoist and Sasha Calle.


The Supergirl movie comes amidst an exciting upcoming slate of films for James Gunn's new DC Universe.


The casting news garnered excited fanfare online, with Alcock herself sharing her enthusiasm on Instagram.
