Porsche 911 Is Set to Significant Transformation in 2025

By: Mobin

Change is coming to Porsche's iconic 911 for 2025, with subtle styling tweaks and the introduction of electrification to the rear-engine sports car.

Evolution

Most 2025 911s will feature a 48-volt electrical system powering an integrated starter-generator, complementing the famous flat-six engine.

Mild Hybrid

A high-voltage gasoline-electric powertrain, likely named T-HEV, will join the 911 lineup, co-developed with Rimac.

High-Voltage

The hybrid system includes an electric motor powering the front wheels (80-90 hp), a 2.0-kWh battery.

Hybrid Specs

A 395-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six, modified for hybrid duty, handles the gasoline side, producing a total system output of around 475 hp.

Gasoline Power

The GTS and Turbo trims will ditch the current 3.0 and 3.7L engines for a new twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six.

Engines

A true battery-electric 911 is still years away, expected to arrive with the 998-generation model in the next decade, succeeding the 992.
